The BulkSMS corporate infrastructure is engineered from the ground up to sit directly at the intersection of high-speed IP computer networks and legacy cellular telecommunication frameworks based on SS7 signaling. We operate native SMPP (Short Message Peer-to-Peer) v3.4 gateways connected directly to the message centers (SMSCs) of Brazil’s major mobile network operators (Vivo, Claro, TIM, and Oi). This setup guarantees that your messages bypass international routing hops, yielding consistent end-to-end delivery latencies under 3 seconds.

When your application submits an A2P SMS payload through our secure HTTP REST API endpoints or dedicated SDKs, the BulkSMS engine parses the JSON into binary PDU packets in milliseconds. Our load-balancing and dynamic routing engines constantly monitor network throughput across each MNO (Mobile Network Operator). In the event of localized cell tower congestion or transit bottlenecks with a specific carrier, our gateways automatically reroute your messages through redundant interconnects, ensuring that critical OTP codes arrive even during nationwide traffic spikes.

Another vital technical aspect of our platform is our exclusive use of approved Dedicated Short Codes. Unlike grey routing vendors who route corporate messages through virtual long numbers (Long Codes) which are easily flagged as spam, BulkSMS delivers exclusively via carrier-authorized 5 or 6 digit short codes (e.g., 28028) licensed by ANATEL. These short numbers command priority scheduling inside carrier mobile switches, avoiding carrier anti-phishing blocks and providing immediate visual trust for the end customer, who recognizes the verified business sender.

We also provide full programmatic support for both GSM 7-bit and UCS-2 character encodings. Messages using standard Latin characters are packed into clean, single-segment payloads of up to 160 characters. For texts containing emojis or complex localized accents, our API dynamically encodes the payload using UCS-2 (70-character limit per segment) and automatically handles SMS concatenation. This ensures the message renders as a single, seamless bubble on the end-user’s device.
